Francois grew up on a sheep farm in the arid plains of the Northern Cape. He finished matric at Duineveld High in Upington in 1995 and then pursued a career in engineering through a bursary by Iscor resulting in him working for Kumba Resources at Sishen Iron Ore Mine in Kathu until 2003. It is here, while working as a qualified artisan (Red Seal) that he also became involved in the Health and Safety program of the mine and discovered his vigour to work with people.
He then felt led to study Theology through SATS and Pneumatix School of Ministry (Somerset West) and finished his BTH degree, working as a Youth Pastor for an AFM congregation in Barberton, Mpumalanga. It was during that time that he realised the need for a more practical, marketplace focus. He became involved with Kohin, an NGO that works with young people in public schools and also eventually pioneered a new branch in his home province - the Northern Cape. In 2010 Francois was privileged to join the African Leadership Institute for Community Transformation (Alict) where his desire to impact communities was cultivated. In 2013 he married Michelle and after a year traveling Europe and Israel as part of a discipleship year, they settled in Upington where Francois worked for the Strauss Group, a civil construction company as a Training Officer.
While working there, he also completed his qualification as Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator. Francois returned to Kathu for a very short while working as an Instructor for Aveng Moolmans where a very traumatic experience forced them as a family to re-think their purpose and calling. Since 2018, Francois has returned to his original roots – Agriculture, and had since been busy seeking ways to Impact and Transform Communities and at the same time address the issue of Food-security and Poverty in South Africa. They started off working under Foundations for Farming in the Midlands of KZN near Greytown for two years and currently live in Gauteng where he founded Yenzokuhle Training and Development Group. He is very passionate about God, his family, Conservation Agriculture, and wants to see a positive change in the people of South Africa.
